The 3 Stages of Veneer Treatment Process
From continuation of our previous blog post about veneers, the veneer treatment process was divided into 3 stages. Each stage was a separate dental appointment. The 3 stages were:
preliminary mock veneers set up
actual treatment phase
final veneer cementation
In the first stage, we take our mock veneer model. This is an exact replica of the dental patient’s teeth except with fake veneers on them. Then we reviewed this with her as she was able to examine the 3-D model. Thus, allowing her to see how her final lab-fabricated veneers would appear.
Upon careful examination, she was pleased with the results . Therefore changes to the veneer shape and size were not necessary. This mock veneer was also used as a template to fabricate her temporary veneers. So the same veneers she wore for two weeks, during which time the final porcelain veneers were in the lab fabrication process.
In her third and final visit, the lab-fabricated porcelain veneers were tried on. After getting her final approval the porcelain veneers were cemented in permanently. At last, the final cosmetic outcome of the case was very pleasing to her and to say the least, it was a life-changing event for her.
With a little extra time spent initially in the preliminary stages, getting veneers to enhance the appearance of your smile can be a painless and rewarding service. Also, it can make a significant impact in dental patient’s lives by enhancing their smile and improving their self esteem.
How to Take Care & Maintain Your Porcelain Laminate Veneers
Dental Porcelain laminate veneers should be treated and cared for, as if they were your natural teeth. In addition, they should be brushed and flossed as if they were your normal teeth. If you are a clencher or grinder, they should be protected by wearing a night guard (occlusion guard). Because this type of dental appliance can help lower the load/stresses placed on your porcelain laminate veneers.
